We designed the APM for the largest privately funded development in U.S. history
Las Vegas’s newest development, CityCenter is one of the world’s largest and environmentally sustainable urban communities, with six LEED® Gold-Certified projects. CityCenter is made up of 500,000 sq. ft. of entertainment, dining, retail and hotel space – all of which are connected by an APM system, the Aria Express Tram. The system connects the existing Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino and Bellagio Hotel and Casino with an intermediate station serving three new hotels: ARIA Resort & Casino, the Vdara Hotel and Spa and the Mandarin Oriental.
Lea+Elliott was the APM system consultant for MGM MIRAGE and was responsible for system planning, which included alignment analysis, technology studies, operation and system analysis, coordination with facility planners and designers to ensure a proper APM/facility interface; preliminary design; development of the entire procurement package and aiding in the bid and award of the APM system contract; and implementation oversight services that included supplier design review oversight activities, testing and acceptance services and final safety certification.
